It’s that time again when the whole country goes footy mental with flags popping up everywhere and local pubs are bursting with banter, bald heads and beer bellies. But if you’re not into the whole football thing, don’t worry, it may seem like you’re the only one that doesn’t get what all the hype is about but you’re not alone.
Here’s a few suggestions of what you can get up to while avoiding the World Cup. Go on, why not try something new and exciting – You’ll be surprised what you can do in 90 minutes!
Afternoon Tea With A Twist
If your other half is obsessed with the World Cup and it really isn’t your thing then why not invite your mates to help you try an afternoon tea with a difference. There’s loads of really cool and quirky options out there to choose from, including Italian or chocolate-themed afternoon tea or there’s ones on river cruises or vintage open-top buses.
Try A New Sport
Have you ever wanted to try a new sport but not had the time or confidence to do it? Well now’s the perfect time to give it a go – plus think of how quiet it’ll be with everyone glued to their TV’s – bonus! How about heading to your nearest trampoline park, taking up salsa, horse riding or giving climbing a go?
Check Out A New Band
If you don’t understand what all the fuss around the World Cup is all about then why not check out a new band? A low key local gig is usually more intimate and cheaper than the big bands and it means you get to enjoy new emerging talents.
The World Cup doesn’t end until mid-July so you can always head to a festival and really escape it all.
Quirky Cocktail Making
Totally avoid the World Cup and try a weird and wonderful cocktail making class with your mates. You’ll have a laugh while trying unusual flavours and may even end up finding a new favourite.
Create Some Me Time
Sometimes it can be hard to fit ‘me time’ into our everyday, busy lives but while the World Cup is on you can make the most of a quiet house and do everything you want to do. A nice long bubble bath, starting a new book or binge-watching your favourite tv programme – go on, you deserve it!
This just so happens to be our favourite – shock. Why not head to our Meadowhall, Sheffield store where you’ll find amazing styles from our summer collection or head over to our site to do a spot of online shopping- you won’t be disappointed.
