We love to take classic styles and make them our own - and we know you do too! That's why this year's autumn collection features so many gorgeous customised and embroidered pieces, designed to have you turning heads wherever you go.

Our Goldie Embroidered Denim Jumpsuit is one of our favourite styles this season. So, we went behind the scenes with our Senior Designer, Peter Moffatt, to discover the story of how we designed it!

What Inspired the Design?

"There's a massive craft movement in the fashion industry at the moment, and a shout for customisation." Peter explained, "so, we were inspired by this idea of taking our more traditional denim and breathing new life into it."

We started off by creating the jumpsuit, giving it a bootcut shape and a dark wash for that worn, lived-in feel. Then, after creating some mock-up trims and finalising the design, the retro floral embroidery was hand-stitched onto the denim, bringing a truly personalised look to the piece.

Who Is Our Embroidered Jumpsuit Designed For?

When we asked him who he envisioned wearing our embroidered jumpsuit, Peter said, "It was designed for someone who likes to stand out. It's the kind of style people will notice and remark on."

With its dark wash, our designers wanted it to feel like an old retro jumpsuit that you'd revived with your own hand-stitched embroidery.

What makes this style so special is that it can be worn by women of all ages, for any occasion. 

"Our jumpsuit is full of attitude, but the embroidery is pretty and feminine. It's really quite a romantic style."

What Shows it's Joe's?

"We always aim for authenticity." Peter told us, when we asked what makes Joe Browns denim different. "If it's vintage denim, it should look authentically vintage."

We offer denim with various types of washes, which give that pre-loved vintage aesthetic. Not only do we aim to make it look authentic, but our denim styles have a flattering fit and a form-fitting shape that we know you love.
