1940s
In a nut-shell the 40s women were all about creating a certain silhouette – nipped in waists and knee length A-line skirts were really popular to create an hourglass shape. Loads of clothes created this outline, from suits and dresses to even some trousers.

1950s
The styles from the 50s are timeless. It’s iconic for its youthful freedoms and sense of fun. It goes beyond poodle skirts and saddle shoes worn by teenagers however, with housewives playing a major role in defining the ultra feminine style we love to wear today.
The beauty of the 1950s era is that there is a ‘look’ that will suit any body shape – the more womanly the better.

1960s
Women in the 60s had an extreme style and attitude from the start of the decade to the end. Twiggy had women freeing their minds and bodies into clothing that didn’t require any extra thought or effort. From modest to “there is no such thing as too short!”

1970s
There were so many great styles going on in the 70s there’s something for every body shape and attitude! From bohemian babe (think floaty maxi dresses in patchwork prints and lace-up peasant blouses) to haute hippy (silky flared trousers and heavenly suede skirts).
Boho tops and flared trousers are a couple of our favourites. Boho tops with ruffled hems are great for rectangle shapes, if you’re an apple or pear tops that cinch you in under the boobs look awesome and for the inverted triangle and the hourglass figures look for a style which has a bit of an asymmetrical cut.
