Men's Layering Tricks for that "In-Between" Weather

Before we dive into the must-have layering essentials every man needs in his wardrobe, let's go over some simple layering rules first.

We often think of layers as something to pop over an outfit, but light layers underneath are just as insulating. Think a thin t-shirt under your top, or a collared shirt under a long-sleeved knit for a preppy look.

One layering rule to guide you is to start with the thinnest layer closest to your body, and then build out. Always remember that your base layer should be the most fitted and sit close to the body. 

Mixing and matching textures is another great way to create an eye-catching layered look. Wear soft textures, like a brushed cotton jersey or a smooth shirt close to the body. Then, layer over them with a contrasting, rougher texture, such as a distressed denim jacket or a tweed blazer.
