Behind the Magic of the Joe Browns Christmas Photoshoot

The first day kicked off with our two wonderful models, Joyce and Glen. While the team began shooting, I was left in charge of setting up the next scene - imagine a full Christmas dinner table… outdoors! I roasted the turkey, prepped the veg, and even had some festive desserts on the go. Tracking down mince pies in August turned out to be quite the challenge, so apple and blackberry had to step in as substitute.  

To round off the day, we moved into the kitchen where we had DJ decks, a drum kit and even more decorations to really get the party started.   

After a great day of shooting, we wrapped up and celebrated with a team meal by Conwy Marina.  

The second day began nice and early with James and India, our models for the day. It’s always nice to have a mix of models throughout the shoot as it keeps the images exciting and fresh for our customers.  

Just like the previous day, we began in the garden shooting some winter layering pieces from the new collection. After a quick lunch pitstop, we switched things up with cocktails in the kitchen - if only it wasn’t a set!  

Fast forward to the end of the day, the models were now wearing pyjamas in the cosy living room. After a few rounds of pretend present opening and dancing in pjs, we called it a wrap. Another successful day of shooting complete! 

Day 3 started off a little later as we were shooting in the dark that evening. We had 4 models on this day: James, India, Charlotte and Ricki, so it was a busy day of shooting!  

This was the big Christmas party day - and it didn’t disappoint. We cooked yet another Christmas dinner, popped more prosecco and reintroduced the DJ decks for the big day. With Christmas music playing (is this bad luck?!) and a surprise trip from the big man himself, we kept our spirits high and the team laughing.  

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Joe Browns shoot without a bit of chaos - the heavens opened, and we got caught in the rain when shooting outside. Thankfully, it soon brightened up just in time for our fire pit scene. Models toasting giant marshmallows and James playing a few songs on the guitar, it was a lovely end to the day. Of course, the team had to get in on the action, and it’s safe to say some of us were better than others at toasting marshmallows!  

Our final day! After the excitement of yesterday’s big Christmas party, we welcomed the wonderful Aline to join us for our final day of shooting.  

We spent the day shooting the last of our occasionwear, along with some cosy winter pieces. Most of the day’s backdrops were set in the beautiful gardens.
