The Detail Behind The Dress

Inspired by the sophisticated yet carefree look that emerged during the 1960s, our Dolce Vita collection merges vintage styling with Italian elegance. This romantic range combines vivid reds, blacks, and pale blues with polka dots, roses, and sweet cherries. It's a look that speaks of passion and sponteneity, perfect for women who love to express their bold personalities through their fashion choices.

Whilst their are a lot of standout pieces in this collection, there is one key style we are utterly enamoured with. Our Greta Polka Dot and Roses Stretch Dress perfectly encapsulates the essence of La Dolce Vita, and we were lucky enough to be able to sit down with the designer to ask all our burning questions about the details behind it. 

From cable knit jumpers and capri trousers, to cherry printed skirts and embossed heels, this collection was designed to take you through the ancient streets of Italy.

"Our spring summer womenswear collection is all about big city breaks and, with its Italian influence, the Dolce Vita look really ties into that." Lucy explained. "Imagine riding a vespa along the amalfi coast or sipping espresso at a little cafe in Rome. That's the essence of Dolce Vita." 

The collection was heavily influenced by the fashion of the 1960s, taking timeless trends and giving them a modern twist.

"We were seeing a lot of sweetheart necklines and polka dot prints on the cat walks." Lucy stated, when we asked what inspired the dress' design. "So, we took notes from styles that are popular now and merged that with what was popular back then."

Of course, we always have to add our unique touch.

"The dress is classic Dolce Vita, but we added some extra Joe Browns details like the red tipping on the neckline and the red belt, that really make it stand out."

When asked who she envisioned wearing the dress, Lucy answered, "I saw an elegant woman, with the bold lips and the pin curls, but maybe she's got tattoos on her arms and she's drinking a whiskey sour."

To achieve this edgy yet sophisticated style, Lucy recommends pairing it with chunky boots and a leather jacket for a rock 'n' roll look that would be perfect for a vintage festival or a summer concert.

If you're going for a more prim and proper style, she suggests red heels and red gloves. Refined and sensual, this would make a gorgeous occasion outfit.

"I love that you can wear it on its own and you don't need to worry so much about accessories." Lucy replied. "The dress itself is the statement."

It's also made of cotton, which is stretchy and breathable so you can wear it all day long. This makes it the perfect ensemble to carry you through the season!
