Create a feast for the eyes with a spread that’ll be the envy of every other picnic party in the park! Whether you’re hosting an at-home picnic or heading out for an al fresco adventure, follow these four top tips to make sure your picnic looks the part: 

1. Save the planet with reusable crockery

This one’s the biggie! A sustainable picnic is a successful one in our book, so we’d recommend investing in picnicware you can use time and time again rather than stocking up your hamper with paper plates and plastic bottles that’ll be thrown away at the end of your event. 

2. Create a cosy picnic spot

Grass stains on your brand new white jeans? No, thanks! Lay down a snug outdoor rug to set up your spread. You could even go one step further by cosying up with some outdoor cushions and a throw if you’re planning a full day out.

3. Pick the right patch 

The location can make or break your picnic party. If you’re in full sunlight with no shade, you could end up hot and bothered. But if you pick a spot out of the sun you’re likely to get chilly. Make sure you assess the whole area before making that all-important choice! Our top tip? Pack for all eventualities, with sunnies in your bag for a bright day and a cosy cardigan on hand in case it clouds over. 

4. Don’t forget your lap tray 

We’ve all been there, trying to balance a sandwich in one hand and a pot of potato salad in the other. Bring a lap tray with you to make sure you can eat comfortably - and you’ll have somewhere to pop your drink while you’re enjoying your feast too. You’ll find plenty of choices in our kitchenware range! 

Melamine is a type of very durable plastic, which makes it perfect for outdoor dinnerware! It can be manufactured in a range of funky designs, so your stylish melamine plates, bowls and cups are sure to be the talking point of any garden gathering. They’ll last for ages, too, making them the perfect reusable party piece that looks great and does good for the planet.

Whilst dinnerware made from melamine plastic is often dishwasher-safe, we’d recommend washing your picnicware by hand to make sure its stunning print stays looking as good as new. 

We don’t recommend putting your plastic picnicware in the microwave. It’s a far safer bet to heat up your food in microwave-safe kitchenware and then transfer your feast onto picnic plates to take out into the garden.
